Enhancing Risk Awareness

Being risk aware means that members of a society understand the potential impacts of risks and how to deal with them.

We consider that solutions that enhance citizens’ risk awareness span one or more of the following aspects:

• Training and education: offering public disaster education in schools’ curriculum and building disaster-related capacities through training and drills
• Factual knowledge: the knowledge and experience related to disasters such as first aid knowledge
• Willingness to help and be part of the change
